The Ultimate Wild West Party Survival Guide

The How-To of Party Survival.

1.      Get fancy.

The Wild West Party is quirky. It’s alternative. It’s cool. In fact, some might say, it’s the coolest, alternative entertainment since the noble Rubik’s cube. But that someone might be a big time nerd...

Either which way, we believe that the awesomeness of the Wild West Party should be honoured and we encourage you to embrace the fancy dress theme.

Re-live your childhood and choose your tribe – were you a Cowboy, or an Indian? Dress accordingly and prepare yourself for shots at dawn … delicious shots of alcohol.

2. Break the mould: arrive early. Stay late. Regret nothing.

Fashionably late is sooooo last season. Say goodbye to the trends of yesteryear and hello to your future, trend-setting self by arriving early!

Yes. Be early and treat yourself to the best space at the bar. Be early and indulge your need for personal space. Be early and gain the coveted record of being the first to hit the dance floor. Hard.

Life is short. We reckon that such horrifying realities deserve a rebellious fist shake in their direction. Arriving early is that fist shake. Join us as we shake our fists at reality and shake our tail-feathers to some of the best Country Music know to ears.

3. Don’t eat the peanuts!

Wild West Saloons are known for their peanut strewn floors, for, when mixed with the sawdust, it did a tiptop job of keeping the dirt at bay (apparently cowboys can be somewhat precious about their lovely boots!).

The peanut is a fantastic snack, packed with protein and all the energy so readily associated with … fat. That being said however, we DO NOT recommend that you munch on the peanuts to be found on the dance floor at our Wild West Party. Don’t do it. It’s not even close to cool and a million miles from pretty.  Don’t do it!

4. Stretch your way to Rodeo Bull victory!

As in any good Country Western Saloon, The Jungle’s Rodeo Bull will be going at full speed, daring you and yours to undertake the challenge to hang on tight!

It is not a competition for the feint-hearted for the stakes are as high as the prizes are fantastic. If you want to be in with a chance of winning you best warm up and stretch like the stretchy thing you know yourself to be.

Remember: bend and stretch!

5. Bask in the bliss of an ear full of Country!

To survive the Wild West Party you will need a ravenous appetite for Country Music.

Top local DJ Brian Moore will be serving up a delicious platter of the best Country Music all night long, from Gareth Brooks and Dolly Parlton to Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Lisa McHugh and Derek Ryan.

We’ve even planned a surprise appearance by a very lovely, local Country Music Singer so clean out those ears – they’re in for a real treat!

6. Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on down it’s … JIVING time!

It there is one thing that Country Music is good for it is The Jive. We don’t want to burst your bubble but, you can only survive the Wild West Party by getting on the dance floor, and destroying it! Take inspiration from this little guy – he's got all the moves!

7. And remember: it’s not over until the fat lady sings.

And by fat lady, we mean muscle bound bouncer who has finished his shift and just wants to head home for wifey snuggles. Don’t anger the bouncers. Underneath that hard, muscular exterior is an ooey, gooey centre in need of a little empathy. Be kind, leave when they ask and they won't unveil their Hulk-ish tendencies.

Family Fun Day update.

The Jungle’s Family Fun Day must now be booked in advance!

Just as change is a necessary part of life, so too is fun!

The Jungle has changed their Family Fun Day event meaning it now MUST be booked in ADVANCE, online at thejungleni.com.

But the Family Fun Day still offers the fantastic fun for which the event is known and loved.

                            Record-breaking Family Fun for all!

Easter Monday 2015 marked the most successful Family Fun Day in Jungle records and while we worked our butts off to deliver our alternative adventure activities and special brand of exceptional customer service, unfortunately, the queues caused some dissatisfaction and disappointment among our treasured customers.

Given that the happiness and satisfaction of all customers is one of our highest priorities (second only to safety) we Jungle folk put our brains into thinking mode. And as the cogs turned an idea was sprung: we would introduce compulsory booking for all Family Fun Day events.

Advance online booking essential!

Advance booking means that we can cap the number of onsite visitors, better manage queues and so improve the onsite flow of customers while providing everyone better access to the best selection of adventure activities in Northern Ireland. This, in turn, will improve the overall enjoyment of each and every visitor to the Family Fun Day. And, it will help parents to better plan their year ahead as we provide a comprehensive list of all Family Fun Day dates in advance at www.thejungleni.com.

Same fantastic activities and the same fantastic value!

The Family Fun Day still offers the same fantastic choice of activities, such as Archery, Body Zorbs, Fun Zorbs, Paintball Target Range, Segways and the Quad Train, to name but a few. Knowing Northern Ireland’s preference for rainy days we offer both indoor and outdoor activities so that fun is guaranteed but getting muddy is optional! With over 15 outdoor pursuits to choose from there is something for everyone from ages 4+.

Activities are just £3 each or 6 for £15!

Family Fun Day activities are offered at the discounted rate of £3 each or a bundle of 6 activities for £15. Book online at www.thejungleni.com. Simply choose the Family Fun Day icon, input your party size and how many activity bundles you would like, enter your payment details in the secure server and hey presto! you’re all set for The Jungle’s Family Fun Day where you can enjoy a unique, value day out with the kids.

Available selected Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays

The Family Fun Day runs from 11am – 4pm on selected Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, March through September. The next Family Fun Day dates are as follows:  Sunday 7th June, Sunday 5th July, Sunday 2nd August, Sunday 30th August, Monday 31st August and Sunday 6th September.

Après-Ski Party Dilemmas!

So you’ve cleared the diary, bought the ticket and kicked back, happily anticipating the party of the year with The Jungle on Saturday 7th March.

The Après-Ski Party if firmly on the horizon.

Approaching faster than a downhill ice-skater on nitrous oxide, The Jungle’s Après-Ski Party is firmly on the horizon. It’s snowy, fancy dress theme bellowing like the
mountain-loving Yeti.

Anticipation swells, giving Excitement a kick up the arse to do likewise.

You are excited and don’t, won’t, can’t hide it because, let’s face it, The Jungle’s Après-Ski Party is fresh, it’s different and it offers a quirky alternative to the cattle-market inspired nightclubs that so often occupy your weekend.

The Après-Ski Party offers everything you want from a party including a fancy-dress theme, big beats, awesome décor, dancing and dancers, a fully-stocked bar, entertainments and prize give-aways.

But, horror of horrors, you suddenly realise your wardrobe is utterly void of any form of ski or snowboarding gear. Both clothing and ideas elude you as you reach the unhappy conclusion that … you have nothing to wear!!!

What to do when you don’t have a clue.

Call The Jungle of course! Many of you have been in touch and so we present the following top clothing suggestions for those who don’t own ski/snowboarding gear but want to join the Après-Ski fun.

1. Dig out the Winter woollies

We’re thinking chunky cardies or itchy woolen jumpers in bold, immodest colours that scratch at the eyeballs demanding an undeserving level of attention for really, they’re quite ugly … but cosy and, in a battle against the snow monster, cosy works best!

 2. Fall in love with Leg Warmers again

Great in the 80s and still great, these fabulously cosy creations are a must in the fight against frost bite!

      3. Think like the Chalet Maid

Gingham is a popular choice among chalet maids everywhere and for good reason - discover why by digging out that old gingham shirt and getting your Gok Wan on.

      4.  Take inspiration from the Moon

Ever noticed how Snow Boots have a spooky resemblance to the Moon Boot off off the 70s?
It’s an oldie but a goodie!

5.  If in doubt, get the beanie out!

You can't go far wrong with a trusty hat, and with so many fantastic designs to choose from you'll certainly fit in with the best dressed of our Après-Ski revelers!

Hope that helps in your quest to prepare for the Après-Ski Party. We’d love to hear your thoughts –comment below or email bookings@thejungleni.com.

The Jungle celebrates its 10th Birthday in Après-Ski style!

We all know winter can drag.

Long, dark nights affect a troublesome burden on the soul, dimming the memories of happy summer days.

In such times, folk are often said to be blue.

But not The Jungle.

We, at TheJungle, believe that life isn’t merely good. It is great. For just as there is an adventure around every corner so too is there a celebration in every day.

And in 2015, we have a lot to celebrate for this year marks our 10th anniversary.

That’s right; The Jungle has been in the adventure business for 10 whole years! We attribute the lengthy service to an ardent love of adventure, passion for the delivery of excellent customer service and an ability to smile, regardless of the weather.

And so, in an effort to share our happiness at reaching such a milestone, we will host the first Après-Ski Party seen this side of Europe’s powder dusted slopes.

Party in Après-Ski style with The Jungle!

On Saturday 7th March, we will transform our funky barn into an Alpine-themed haven of celebratory greatness, enabling visitors to benefit from a party scene to rival that of the world’s top ski or boarding resorts.

Ask any discerning skier or boarder and you will quickly learn that the Après-Ski is equally as important as the actual skiing event.  It typically begins around 3pm when adventure weary revelers pour off the slopes into the rustic bars searching for a refreshing reward for their daring pursuits and friends with whom to share tales of their snowy explorations.

The Jungle’s Après-Ski Party will offer all that and more!

We’ll offer you everything that makes an Après-Ski event unforgettable, from inspired décor, a top DJ, big beats and cheesy sing-along songs to traditional dancing chalet maids, state-of-the-art lighting, amusements and, of course, refreshments. The bar will be fully stocked with only the delicious from beers to spirits or, Jagermeister to Schnapps, your needs will be catered for by our friendly and attentive staff.

Dress for the slopes to be in with the chance of winning a prize!

The Red Bull Wings Team will be onsite seeking out the most inspired snow gear so dress to impress and you could win something you’d want to win!

If you were strapped for cash and couldn't escape to the slopes this season, or perhaps you went, the times they rolled but now you’re experiencing the post-holiday blues, or maybe the ski holiday remains a hopeful on your to-do-list.

Either which way, The Jungle’s Après-Ski Party can lend a helping hand and ensure you regain that mile smile.

So join us at our Après-Ski Party where we will raise a toast to celebrating without time frames, adventuring without limits and growing older with carefree abandon.

Life is short. Celebrate while you can. To Après-Ski.

The Après-Ski will kick off at 9.30pm on Saturday 7th March. Tickets are £12 each, with £2 of each ticket going directly to the Northern Ireland Hospice (http://www.nihospicecare.com/). Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.thejungleni.com.

In your face January!!!

We have escaped – hoorah!

January is no more. Its cold and penniless grip is now but a distant memory as we stand happily on the cusp of a new month. And what a month awaits!

It’s February baby!

Having less than 28 days it is the shortest of all the months but what it lacks in length it makes up for in greatness, offering a bevy of celebratory events such as Canned Food Month, International Friendship Month and National Pet Dental Health Awareness Month.

Tucked quietly among the raucous crowd, is Valentine’s Day.

A day which celebrates affection, love, romance and everything in between. A day which strikes fear in the heart of singletons everywhere and paints smugness on the faces of those happily coupled.

Such smugness exists at The Jungle in the form of our two miniature schnauzers: Alfie and Gypsy. They are indeed a happily coupled pair and seem to have it sussed, daily demonstrating the big spoon-little spoon affect and even finishing each other’s barks.

And, while in a mature relationship of some four human years, or 28 dog years, they still find time to reconnect with their inner pup and spend hours playfully chasing tail throughout The Jungle’s expansive site.

Not only on Valentine’s Day do they demonstrate the meaning of the term puppy love.

Rather, the furry pair provide the perfect example of a happily ever after. An example made better still by the fact that there are to be more mini Alfie and Gypsy’s on the way because Gypsy is preggars! The pups are due mid-February and we are an excited bunch indeed.

We wish you the most happiest of February’s and, regardless of your feelings on the matter of Valentine’s Day, we hope you enjoy the cute pictures of our two loveable scamps – Alfie and Gypsy.

Wedding Plans.

Last weekend, Jungle staff were up to their eyeballs in Wedding plans.

Amid a sea of chiffon and sparkles, crooning wedding singers and cake-making experts, The Jungle NI set up stall to promote their wares.

Now we haven’t suddenly had a change of heart and ditched adventure in favour of the dinging-dong of wedding bells. We aren't Northern Ireland's newest and greenest wedding venue.

But we do throw a damn good party.

Whether it’s a Hen party with a difference that bedecks your wish list or a Stag party with a bang, you can bet your bottom dollar that The Jungle NI can deliver with its fab mix of adventure activities, funky Glamping accommodation and yummy grub.

When it comes to weddings and plans and planning weddings, we reckon that the Hen and Stag parties are right up there with the most important to-dos.

That's why we've taken time to re-create our Hen and Stag adventure packages and can confidently say that we offer something for everyone, from the hardened thrill-seeker to the carefully curious, from those with deep pockets to those counting the pennies.

So if you’re tasked with such plannings cast your eyeballs at our Hen and Stag offerings or, better still, pop along to the Ulster Wedding Show in the Odyssey Arena this weekend (31st January and 1st February, 2015) where you’ll receive a cheery hello from Jungle staff.

New Year's Resolutions.

It's that time of year again.

A time when you notice the misty-eyed, inspired masses, reflecting and resolving to do things differently. A time when resolutions are made to make changes that will sufficiently mix things in an upward direction.

As is the way - life changing thoughts lead to life changing decisions.

And what could be more life changing than the decision to alter one's marital status. The decision to leave behind the shackles of a singular title and become a married entity, is one which many undertake during the festive season.

In fact, studies show that 20% of all couples who get engaged do so over the Christmas and New Year period. And, just as Santa is setting about the business of toys and all things gift-like, it would appear that questioning menfolk are more inclined to get on bended knee on Christmas Eve.

Indeed there is something to be said about the magic of Christmas.

A magic which goes a long way to explain our latest Jungle adventure, for we are off! Road tripping is the name of the game ... well, the name of part one at least, by the time we reach part two we will certainly mean business: the Professional Games Business.

The Jungle NI has more adventure games and activities than you could shake a stick at!

And so we're off  to Belfast's Wedding Journal Show to get loud, and shout about our fun and fabulous offerings! Our Hen and Stag packages have been reworked and re-packaged offering bolder thrills, bigger laughs and, more importantly, better value.

Come see us at King's Hall Pavilion, this weekend!

If you enjoyed an extra sparkly, festive season and are about to embark on your wedding planning journey, come see us at the Wedding Journal Show this weekend. We'll tell you all about our new Hen and Stag Packages, which start at £40 per person and inspire you with tales of the adventurous life.
